Here's what my feelings are: the Ultra Black looks really sexy and cool. Great for a pen you want to grab and use right away, with lower maintenance than a piston filler. I'm not crazy about the medium nib because it's more fine than I would like, but it performs well. For me, I like this model and finish a lot. That's why we have so many other choices, and that's what makes it fun. They also may dislike them because of the price and 'snob' factor that is often associated with them. Some people dislike Montblanc for various reasons - the Meisterstück series is pretty straight forward and some find that boring.
